HOW WE WORK
We collect nationwide data every six months in February and August by sending teams to personally photograph every site on our database. This ensures that our database remains current and is an accurate representation of each site. For each face, we take GPS coordinates, photos and update all relevant data, including media owner, size and current brand.

Founder and Sales + Marketing Director
Erik graduated from the University of Cape Town with a B.Sc. in Mathematics, followed by an AdMac course at the Red & Yellow School of Advertising. After working as a Media Strategist at DraftFCB and taking on the role of MD of Posterscope Cape Town, he completed his MBA at the UCT Graduate School of Business. This led to his appointment as a Management Consultant at Bain and Company.
In 2009, Erik founded Outdoors Auditors in partnership with his brother Rene Warburg. With over 20 years’ experience in the media industry, Erik is passionate about improving the efficiency of the OOH industry, effectively linking supply and demand, and reducing wasted spend.
Founder and Operations Director
Rene graduated from the University of Cape Town having achieved a B.Sc. Environmental & Geographic Science and B.Com in Economics. His studies continued at the University of Pretoria and the University of Salzburg where he obtained a B.Sc. Geography and M.Sc. GIS respectively. After relocating to Tanzania, Rene launched his career as a GIS Manager at Friedkin Conservation Fund.
Since founding Outdoor Auditors with Erik, Rene has lent his considerable GIS expertise to providing valuable data to the OOH industry, growing the company’s unique planning tools, and leveraging his valuable insight into the ongoing evolution of the industry.
